Harmony Park Theme

The American house tavern was built by Peter and Mary Busch in the late 1800s and became a community staple.

More info on Peter and Mary Busch from 1899.
The tavern changed owners a few times and in
1917 it was renamed to the Vail.

It remained the vail until it burned down in 1988.

Many people mourned the passing of a beloved gathering place.

In 2005 Harmony Park was constructed on its lot.

Today the sounds of summer concert series take place in the park continuing the traditional of being a staple of the downtown area. The location downtown.
Artistic takes:
- Maybe some paintings of Peter, Mary and others building or operating the American Tavern. Maybe a painting showing it as the center of the community.
- Depictions of the fire and the impact it had on the community
- interpretations of how the spirit lives on in Harmony park and summer concert series
- speculations on what it will look like in the future (50 years, 100?)
